Flu Clinic is a student-led initiative dedicated to protecting community health across Washington, D.C. by providing influenza vaccinations, health education, and preventative screenings. Medical student volunteers are trained to administer vaccines and deliver basic health services under the supervision of physicians and nurses. In addition to vaccination, each clinic incorporates blood pressure and blood glucose screenings to promote early detection and preventative care.

Over time, Flu Clinic has grown into a strong community-centered program, hosting clinics across the District in collaboration with a range of local organizations. These efforts have enabled the delivery of hundreds of vaccines and essential screenings to individuals who may otherwise face barriers to care. A key priority of the program is accessibility, including the integration of interpretation services to ensure patients receive clear, culturally responsive care.

Flu Clinic also emphasizes collaborative outreach by partnering with other HOYA Clinic initiatives to offer comprehensive, one-stop services, including preventative care, wound care, and nutrition education. This integrated approach reflects our mission to not only prevent illness, but to build trust, strengthen community relationships, and provide holistic, patient-centered care.
